RIP Scott Weiland

While I can't say I didn't see this coming (or ask for it to happen when he fucked up STP-reunion stuff or showed up in youtube videos plastered out of his mind), it's still sad when one of your rock heroes from the 90's passes. CORE is my favorite album of all time. I can listen to that dang thing backwards and forwards and not get sick of it. Still. PURPLE is just as good except for the Pretty Penny song. That was a small indication the band wanted to try new things. It became even more evident on TINY MUSIC FROM THE VATICAN GIFT SHOP.

Anyway, I'll be listening to STP all day and remembering the "good Weiland" or as Die likes to say the "Roy-Blatty-Nexus-Weiland"....or however that went.

Here is Weiland in his prime: https://youtu.be/uA4hSZ1Xy1g" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That was poetry. You just conveyed my emotions perfectly. When Weiland started to get more into the lounge singer style and persona, STP skyrocketed downward into a reverse nosedive directly towards hell to which there was no pulling up.

(Sour Girl is a very underrated forgotten STP gem that came along a bit later and gave me a ray of hope though)

We all knew this day was coming, but that does not make this day any less sad.

I listened to a bunch of STP on my way to work this morning and thought about how good their lyrics were and how much I hate Nickelback for trying to copy them.

When they were good, they were absolutely awesome. I can't list many (any?) musicians active today cranking out music on the same level. I mean, Queens of the Stone Age aren't a thing anymore, are they?

Sucks.
