WWE Wrestler Found Dead In Minneapolis

(WCCO) Minneapolis World Wrestling Entertainment wrestler Eddie Guerrero was found dead in his hotel room in Minneapolis, the organization said Sunday on its Web site.

Guerrero, 38, was a featured star on the UPN series "WWE Smackdown!" and was in Minneapolis for a Sunday night TV taping at Target Center.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner is at the Marriott City Center. Authorities are not yet releasing information on Guerrero's death.

Guerrero, son of legendary Mexican wrestler Gory Guerrero, has also wrestled with World Championship Wrestling and Extreme Championship Wrestling, among other federations.

The wrestler has held many titles with WWE, including the WWE World Championship belt, which he won in February 2004.

This totally sucks ass. Eddie was one of my favorite wrestlers.

They'd better do a tribute show, or else I'll never watch WWE again.

edit: they are doing a tribute show, and it'll be similar to the Owen tribute show.

Man, I still can't believe he's gone. r.i.p. Eddie.

Vince and Chavo are holding a press conference that will be posted on WWE.com soon.

I guess that means it was a suicide.

In memoriam, I shall post this from my CAWR days:

Still the Eddie G.
(To the tune of Still the D.R.E.

{Chavo}
Still Chavito and Eddie G. (Guess who's back)
Still, still doing that shit, right?

{Eddie}
Oh for sho', check me out
It's still Latino Heat, Esse’.
Cars got chrome a lot, can't keep it on the lot
Cause when I roll it on out, I get pops like the Rock.
You see the hydraulics bump when I'm on the block
Chicas, they pay homage, but haters say Eddie sucks.
How? My last singles title was The U.S.
They want to know if I still got it
They say WWE’s changed, wanna know how hombre’ feels about it?

{Chavo - singing}
If you don’t comprehende’

{Eddie}
Eddie G. is the name, I'm ahead of my game
Still, know how to cheat, still know how to steal
Still fillin’ up the seats (Uh huh)
Still representin’ Latinos and thugs and thieves
Still got love for the streets, pimpin’ Latino Heat
Still can beat Angle, still droppin’ big names, yo
Since I left, ain't too much changed, still

Chorus:

{Chavo}
I'm representing for Mamacitas all across the world
Still hitting the Frog Splash, makin’ the cover, girl

{Eddie}
Still taking my time to lie and cheat
And I still put asses in seats, it's the Eddie G. {Repeat 2x}

Since the last time you heard from me I lost a win
Well, you see, me and Chavo are taggin’ again.
Got to the PPV tagged with Taijiri to win
He lost our titles so I freaked
Threw him onto my hood
Cause every time I was close to defeat, I chose to cheat
Now Chavo’s back and we’re beatin’ people every week.
Beat TWGG, yo them vatos es weak.
Tag teams, they be hatin’. We can’t be beat.
Then come these bald dudes with a chick that’s a freak
It's was a fluke, they haven’t paid their dues
It's time for a re-match you know we lose
So I blew it, Chavo’s freakin’ had it
Gonna turn heel and let me have it
Smackdown on UPN with bad logic
I’ll Frog Splash and get the pin, Eddie G.

It ain't nothing but mo’ tha same shit
Another classic Heel turn for y'all to get pissed
Whether you're watchin at home with your fly bitch
Sittin way in the back, sayin “that’s whack”
I'm representing for mamacitas all across the world
(Still hitting the Frog Splash, makin’ the cover, girl)
Got beat by the Big Show and lost cause of a Jap
Least I ain’t got HHH holdin’ me back

{Chavo - singing}
So if you don’t comprehende’

{Eddie}
L.W.O., Latino Heat, still the same name
Still lovin’ all of the honies
Still winning matches, kick ass to make my money
Stay off of my hood, you’ll be covered in blood
Your head with this chair, I’ll be hittin’ hard
I could lose everyday, I still got my car
Still I’ll be fine regardless

{Chorus x1. 5}

{Chavo}
Liked that heel turn didn’t ya
I don’t lie, you can’t pin me
Eddie G., my fav’rite wrestler? You must be kiddin’ me
Like Cena, “You ain’t my dog!”
Won’t stress, won’t bleed, you won’t win, I’ll succeed
Some of that Geurrero Special
Make you scream, C-H-A-V-O
Orale, yo!

I can't believe it, but he's a wrestler so I guess it shouldn't be a surprize

They're doing tribute shows on both RAW and Smackdown, since both are being filmed tonight before they go on their European tour.

MINNEAPOLIS - Eduardo Gory Guerrero, a World Wrestling Entertainment superstar was found dead in his hotel room Sunday in Minneapolis, where he was scheduled to appear that evening in a WWE Supershow. He was 38.

When he didn't respond to a wake-up call, hotel security at Minneapolis Marriott City Center and Guerrero's nephew and fellow WWE wrestler, Chavo Guerrero, forced their way into the room, police said.

There were no apparent signs of foul play or suicide, police said. An autopsy was planned at the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.

He was a featured star on the UPN series "WWE Smackdown!" and son of Mexican wrestler Gory Guerrero.

Chavo Guerrero and McMahon said Guerrero was open about his past drug and alcohol abuse but they said he'd been sober for four years.

In February 2004, Guerrero became the second wrestler of Hispanic heritage to be WWE champion when he defeated Brock Lesnar, a former University of Minnesota wrestling standout. Guerrero lost the title four months later.

In May 2004, UPN aired the special "Cheating Death, Stealing Life: The Eddie Guerrero Story." The one-hour program chronicled his childhood and his struggle with drug addiction that almost cost him his job, family and life before his recovery and eventual capture of the WWE championship.
so they don't know what happened to him, intresting

Sober for 4 years my ass. Hardly anybody in professional wrestling goes clean.

If you're a wrestler, and you die before you fucking hit 40, it's either because of:

a) Drugs
b) Suicide
c) Vince McMahon

Was it just me, or did Chavo not seem very disturbed, upset, surprised, or sad during his press conference with Vince, today?

Also, first he said he didn't see Eddie today because he never got up, then he said they had breakfast together... That's a pretty big discrepancy.

This whole situation's just plain weird.

He said they were going to have breakfast at 8. Eddie died at 7-7:30.

I think Chavo looked legitimately sad.

I also noticed that Chavo seemed sad, but not really upset.

This makes me thinks he saw this train coming down the tracks for a while now.

I believe he came down with the wrestling version of Bird Flu.

What.the.fuck.

How do so many wrestlers keep dropping dead? Don't they start to "get it" that the neverending diet of coke and D-Bol and Ripped Fuel is just not the best way to go?

We need to start a wrestler's death pool. My money is on the Hitman to kick it next.

I figure it was probably from an od of pain pills... Take too much will stop you from breathing

Of course a roids/other drug = heart attack is always a possiblity

I would've figured the Warrior that is Ultimate would die before Eddie; it was clearly wishful thinking

Hell, Ric Flair should be next in line before Eddie

Nah, I'd put my money on an Outsider before I would Hitman. Nash was having heart issues, and Hall...well that one kind of speaks for itself.

I really hope to god that this isn't drug or alcohol related.
