Nintendo NX (Switch)

So once again Nintendo thinks that the key to winning the console wars is to have a gimmick. No, I get it, they're not even trying to win the console wars, they're just trying to do ANYTHING different to capture a niche market. I get that they are trying to be quirky and different, but damn most of their gimmicky stuff has either failed or had limited success while their first party games have been what made the difference.
It's stupid because if they actually delivered great games and in a timely manner, they could own the majority of the market for a change.

^ so, a lot of people are having fun with that video while Nintendo still tries to be all secretive about the "NX" and typically continues to piss the world off.
They say they don't want competitors to steal their ideas, so they are keeping everything secret until 2016.
Which led to them getting buried at e3.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/ ... r=yahootix" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Heading into E3 this year, there were two things Nintendo specifically said they wouldn’t talk about, The Legend of Zelda for Wii U, and their new NX hardware, both of which are supposed to be kept under wraps until 2016.
While Nintendo is keeping their word and still refusing to discuss the specifics of the NX, Satoru Iwata is at least discussing why they’re keeping it a secret until at least next year, according to a recent investor call.
“We can’t talk about the NX,” Iwata said. “If we do, competitors may take our ideas and customers won’t be surprised.”
Iwata continued, saying that even though the NX was completely new hardware starting “from zero” (no backwards compatibility, perhaps?), Nintendo would continue to support the Wii U and 3DS, with specific focus on revitalizing the Wii U playerbase.
Is Iwata right to be worried that competitors like Microsoft and Sony would steal ideas from the NX for their next theoretical console, or even current ones? I think so.
After all, Sony and Microsoft have both demonstrated the desire to emulate Nintendo before, mainly back when the Wii was all the rage and motion controls briefly took over the world. Sony concocted PlayStation Move, while Microsoft poured millions into Kinect. Obviously, both ideas didn’t pan out, but Nintendo is right to be wary that these other companies with arguably more resources to devote to new tech might take their concepts and run with them either before the NX hits the market, or try to one-up it afterward. Delaying NX information is a way to minimize that risk.
That said, we obviously haven’t seen that happen in recent years. No one is trying to emulate the Wii U’s gamepad or the 3DS’s handheld 3D, aspects of both units that I would say actually detract from the experience more than they add to it (though avid Nintendo fans likely would not agree with that statement). But what is indisputable is that Sony and Microsoft have not run out to try and copy Nintendo’s tech on its recent hardware the way they did with the original Wii, though that does not mean they won’t do it again.

I love my Switch. Breath of the Wild is an all time great game.
The Switch is selling really, really well.

I've got Breath of the Wild for WiiU. It is indeed amazing.
I just still don't see a reason to pick up a Switch. What am I missing?
